Clifford's in the House

Hanging out with the big red dog!

Clifford finally made it to Wenonah. The students were excited to choose their books from the treasure chest for reading over the summer and handing in their summer reading logs. They have been reading up a storm so far this year. Several students have already completed their trimester reading goals and it is still October!

New Books for Our Classroom Library

Sachem Public Library
Book Sale
So excited! Today while returning books to the library, I was excited to see a book sale happening. I am always on the lookout for new books to update our classroom library. Boy, did I hit the jackpot! I was able to purchase all these books for less than $15! I can't wait to add them to our collection tomorrow!

A Visit from Dr. Graham

Reading Workshop Time

Message from the Superintendent:
"Thank you for allowing me to spend time in your classroom today.  It was great to see our students mature conversations about their reading.  The anchor charts around the room, the robust classroom library, and your enthusiasm all create an environment for learning."

Exciting Friday at Wenonah

Pumpkin Picking Time

Contemplating the best pumpkin choice...and go!
Bring your pumpkins back on Halloween to be judged
in our class pumpkin decorating contest.

Mystery Lunch Server Day

Today's lunch was served not by our wonderful cafeteria ladies
but by some mystery servers!
I wore my rhinestone apron and helped Ms. DiPaola
serve up some pizza bagels.
I even tried my hand at making the deli sandwiches
ordered for our lunch period!

SCWA Visits Fourth Graders

Suffolk County Water Authority Presentation

The fourth graders learned all about where their water supply comes from in this informative presentation. They saw what happens to our water supply when someone pollutes the environment and how long it takes the Earth to clean the water. They learned about the Water Cycle and how what we do above the
ground can pollute our drinking water below the ground. If they complete the optional quiz sent home, they will receive a certificate from the SCWA.
