More than halfway there...Get Your Math Game On.

           Get Your Game On!

MORE THAN HALFWAY FUNDED!

I just put up a project on Donors Choose for our classroom. I am trying to find new ways to make learning more exciting and hands-on. If you would like to donate to help get these supplies in our classroom, that would be truly appreciated by all the students in our class. Every little bit helps! Thank you in advance for all your support and help this school year! Click on the Title link to go straight to the Donors Choose page.

Flashlight Friday Reading and More

Door is ready to go for Halloween Parade down our hallway on Tuesday before they get to you outside on the field!

Heather Forest visited the fourth grade to share her wonderful stories through music and mesmerizing storytelling. She is a musician, singer, author and storyteller.

At the book fair, students couldn't even wait to get back to class to crack open their new purchases!

And last but not least, flashlight Friday independent reading. When your heart and mind are begging for more, you know the book is just right!

Suffolk County Water Authority Presentation

SCWA Presentation to all Fourth Graders

The fourth graders attended a presentation to kick off the next topic in science,
The Water Cycle.
Did you know...
  •  that we are drinking the same water that dinosaurs drank thousands of years ago.
  • We do not have more water on Earth today than in the past.
  • It costs 400 times more to buy water in plastic bottles than it does to use your own reusable containers!

Pumpkins and Suspense Writing

Thanks to the PTA all students were able to pick out a pumpkin from the Wenonah Pumpkin Patch outside our classroom.

Using Lester Lamanack's Saturdays and Teacakes as our mentor text, we met with a partner to revise, look for and add author's crafts that the book inspired us to try in our own writing!

Can't wait to publish our pieces!

Fill Every Shelf Event

FILL EVERY SHELF EVENT

There is a project  I posted on DonorsChoose for our classroom library. I surveyed the class for new books or books they wished we had in our class. Overwhelmingly, they wanted more graphic novels as you can see from the project. I also added a little surprise for them if it gets funded... Finger Flash lights for a fun independent reading for Fridays!

If you would like to donate, go to DonorsChoose, every dollar donated will be automatically doubled!
BUT ONLY for Oct. 18 and 19th! We get more bang for our buck!

Snap Circuits Electrify Learning

Some of you helped fund this project over the summer! Finally had some hands-on learning on Friday. Looking forward to many more fun times exploring electricity with these kits throughout the school year!
THANK YOU FROM ALL OF US!

Strike a Pose

Picture Day was Wednesday

PSEG Energyz Assembly

The program incorporated multiple characters and explored four main topics: defining energy, the uses of energy, how energy is wasted and ways to conserve it. Throughout the show students were taught about various energy conservation methods and tactics to cut down energy waste around their homes.

Everyone can be energy efficient and a super hero when it comes to conserving energy!
