"Eggsecutioner 2.0"

Egg Drop Trial Two

Week two leaders in Class 4-2
The lightest container was only 6 grams.
Remember when you make modifications, the goal is to be lighter
than the time before and have an egg that survives!
We are using a postal scale to weigh all of the containers. They are all weighed on the same scale to keep that variable constant.

Egg Drop Challenge

Several students participated in the balloon car race. Sam's was the only car
that traveled the course. It took 3.81 seconds.
Fifteen of the designs protected the eggs we dropped from 8ft.
The lightest survival container was 7 grams on the grade level from our class.

LIFTOFF

Trying something new by sharing this on my blogspot. I haven't had success with a project yet, but I heard that sometimes when a project starts to get funding, it gets noticed by others on the site. Hopefully, it is successful. Last year, my daughter had a project  fully funded by Julianne Hough! I had high hopes for a  project expiring in a about 11 days that I don't think will get funded so I will loose any money unless people put towards another project when it expires.
3D Doodler Project close to expiring.
 Here goes...

Exciting news from my 4thgrade classroom… we’re ready for  new books! This school year (and for years to come), I want to ensure that my students have what they need to succeed, so I've created a request on a 501(c)3 charity website called DonorsChoose.org.

I'm writing to ask for any donations possible for my students - no matter the size (seriously, every little bit counts). This week only, any donation you make to my project will be doubled if you enter the code LIFTOFF at checkout!
If you can't donate anything at this time, no worries... just share this information with anyone who you know is passionate about education. Your donation will have a direct impact on at least 25 students this year , and each year after that and you'll hear back from our class about your impact!
Here’s my classroom request:
Please feel free to send me any questions you may have, and know that my students and I greatly appreciate your support.
Thank you again!

Island Harvest Visit

Island Harvest supplied the soil and seeds to quick start our Wenonah Giving Garden.
Today the students planted broccoli, eggplant and kale in milk cartons.
The veggies harvested get donated to Island harvest.

BIrd Cam Sites

In class, we have been learning about ecosystems, food chains and survival of the fittest.
We have been watching the Berry Eagle Cam lately. The students asked me to put up links on the blog, so they could easily access at home. I hope you find this helpful.

Thank you!

It was so great to come back to hugs and smiles from the class. I appreciated all the cards, thoughts, flowers and treats from each and every one of you.
I am very happy that I was able to get back to work so quickly after my surgery!
Just a couple of the thoughtful gifts, cards and Valentine's given to me...

The district also held a  Schoolwide literacy training this week for all of the fourth grade teachers in the district on Thursday at Samoset.
